Winter Dormant Pruning
Spring Cane Trenching
Summer Canopy Netting
Autumn Harvest Pressing
Thinning peach and almond scaffolding, sanitizing shears, and chipping diseased wood before early spring bud break.
Digging fresh furrow beds, laying stalk cuttings into warm damp clay, and spreading straw mulch across aisles.
Securing protective mesh against orchard pests, hand-thinning green fruit clusters, and weeding around pawpaw saplings.
Stripping mature purple cane stalks, cranking the manual roller press, and gathering fallen custard-ripe pawpaws.

Hard physical work, honest pay
We supply heavy leather gloves, sharpened shears, and direct instruction on heritage orchard management. You bring rugged work boots, a full canteen, and a willingness to work Piedmont clay in shifting weather.
When noon bells ring and tools are racked, everyone gathers around the wood-fired hearth for thick slices of crusty sourdough, cultured butter, and fresh seasonal cider.

Sessions run from eight to noon and cap at six hands per crew to ensure meaningful instruction.
